Why are children sharing violent videos on social media?

Videos showing children being hit, kicked, slapped and verbally humiliated by other children are being shared on social media platforms including TikTok, Telegram and Snapchat, DR reports.

The phenomenon is explored in DR’s documentary Brutale Børn. In several cases, conflicts involving ex-partners, friends or classmates have preceded the videos, which are then used as weapons in disputes.

Experts are answering questions about what leads children and young people to share such videos, and what children, young people and parents can do if they encounter the content or become involved themselves.
