Norway’s meteorological institute forecasts warm summer with possible cool spells
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute predicts a high likelihood of a warm summer across Norway, though some cooler periods may still occur, according to its latest seasonal forecast for June, July, and August.
The forecast, published Wednesday, indicates that average temperatures for the three-month period are expected to be above normal nationwide. However, meteorologists emphasize that seasonal outlooks reflect overall trends and do not rule out short-term variations.
Precipitation is most likely to remain near normal for eastern, southern, and western Norway, as well as Trøndelag. In northern Norway, the institute sees equal chances of wetter-than-normal conditions and near-normal rainfall.
The institute notes that Norway’s weather can vary significantly by region, and the forecast represents average conditions over the full season rather than day-to-day predictions.
