Guðmundur recalls the day he won Olympic handball gold

Guðmundur Þórður Guðmundsson, a former men’s national handball team coach, has recalled one of the best days of his career on Facebook, mbl.is reports.

Friday marked 10 years since Guðmundur led Denmark to Olympic gold at the Rio Games. Denmark defeated France 28-26 in the final.

The gold was the Danish men’s team’s first Olympic medal and the first time an Icelandic coach had won Olympic gold in men’s handball.
