Three brothers make history playing together in Finland’s top pesäpallo league
Three brothers from Nurmo are now the first trio in recent memory to play together in Finland’s top-tier Superpesis league, representing Koskenkorvan Urheilijat, Yle reports.
Rasmus (born 2001), Justus (2003), and Luukas Teppo (2007) have all secured spots in the team’s lineup this season. Their club, a rising force in the league, aims to retain its place in Superpesis for next year.
While Finnish sports history includes occasional sibling trios—such as the Jormakka brothers in ice hockey and the Lehtoranta trio in basketball—such cases remain rare. The Teppo brothers’ shared presence in the same top-flight team marks a notable milestone in the sport.
Pesäpallo, often called “Finnish baseball,” is a fast-paced bat-and-ball game and one of the country’s most popular summer sports. The men’s Superpesis league features 12 teams competing in a season running from May to September.
