Minister Mika Poutala has toe amputated after tractor accident

Minister Mika Poutala has had a toe amputated following an accident last week, Yle reported.

Poutala said on Instagram that the lengthy operation also repaired severed tendons and secured joints with screws.

He previously said he had been carrying out earthmoving work with a small tractor when it began to tip over. He injured his leg while jumping from the tractor.

Poutala is the government’s minister for physical activity, sports and youth.
