Raute launches layoff negotiations affecting 140 employees
The Finnish wood technology company Raute has initiated change negotiations that could lead to temporary layoffs of up to 90 days for around 140 employees, the company announced Thursday, citing economic uncertainty and declining orders.
According to a company statement, the negotiations cover all Finnish operations except the installation team, which was already subject to earlier talks. Any layoffs would take effect during 2026.
Raute reported that global economic and geopolitical instability has intensified in early 2024, causing customers to delay investments and slowing the recovery of the company’s order backlog. First-quarter revenue fell to €33.5 million, down by over €18 million compared to the same period last year.
The company’s financial results for January–March also declined year-on-year, though specific figures were not disclosed in the announcement.
