Martec in Frederikshavn sets record with 137 new students in maritime programs

The maritime education center Martec in Frederikshavn has set a record for the number of enrolled students this year, accepting 137 new students into its three bachelor’s degree programs. According to director Pia Ankerstjerne, this influx is crucial for the local economy.

“It is very important to train them locally because we know from experience that maritime companies in Northern Jutland have difficulty attracting labor from other regions,” she stated.

Ankerstjerne emphasized the significance of increasing local student enrollment for the area’s businesses and ongoing growth. The programs offered include degrees in marine engineering, ship captaincy, and naval architecture.
