US and Iran extend ceasefire but peace talks stall

A temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran has been extended, though planned peace talks in Pakistan appear unlikely to proceed, according to reports from Swedish public broadcaster SVT.

US President Joe Biden ordered the extension of the truce, but neither Washington nor Tehran has confirmed plans to attend negotiations scheduled for Wednesday in Pakistan.

Six apartments destroyed in Malmö fire

A major fire tore through a row of terraced houses in the Sofielund district of central Malmö on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities have launched an arson investigation.

“In total, ten apartments were affected—six completely destroyed, while four remain standing,” operations officer Rickard Nilsson told SVT early Wednesday.
