A concert by Finnish punk band Klamydia in Vantaa went badly wrong after lead singer Vesku Jokinen performed heavily intoxicated, leaving disappointed ticket holders potentially eligible for partial refunds, reports Yle.

Jokinen later apologised on Instagram, admitting he had “drank vodka like a fool” instead of sticking to beer. “Sorry to everyone who was there,” he wrote. Witnesses told tabloid Iltalehden that the singer stumbled, swore at the audience, and forgot lyrics during the Friday show.

According to Juha Beurling-Pomoell, secretary general of the Finnish Consumer Authority, attendees can demand a price reduction if the concert failed to meet expectations due to the artist’s condition. “The customer should contact the ticket seller, explain what happened, and propose a discount amount,” he said. If the seller refuses, consumers can escalate the complaint to the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority or the free, no-risk Consumer Disputes Board, though processing may take time.

Anne Riksa, business director at the hosting Sokos Hotel, said the incident would influence future artist selections. “We expect bands we book to deliver what audiences come to see,” she stated, calling such behavior rare among professional acts. The venue has not yet received direct complaints, but staff are monitoring social media feedback. Around 600 people attended the €22-ticket event.
