One in five Faroese voters undecided ahead of parliamentary election
A new voter survey conducted by Lóður for Faroese national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya shows that 20.3 percent of respondents remain undecided on which party to support in the upcoming parliamentary election.
The poll, released Monday, indicates that roughly one in five voters have not yet chosen a party as the election approaches. The survey also reveals current party support, with the People’s Party (Fólkaflokkurin) leading at 28.8 percent, equivalent to 10 seats—four more than in the 2022 election.
The Union Party (Sambandsflokkurin) follows with 21.9 percent, retaining its seven seats, while the Social Democratic Party (Javnaðarflokkurin) stands at 17 percent, securing six seats—three fewer than last time. The Republic (Tjóðveldi) holds 15.1 percent, translating to five seats, one less than in 2022.
The Centre Party (Miðflokkurin) is projected to gain one additional seat with 7.6 percent support, while the Progress Party (Framsókn) loses one seat with 7 percent. The Self-Government Party (Sjálvstýrisflokkurin) falls below the threshold at 2.6 percent, missing parliamentary representation.
Among undecided voters, 2.6 percent say they will not participate, and 3.1 percent plan to cast a blank ballot.
