Samfylking party leads Icelandic polls ahead of 2024 Alþing elections
The latest poll conducted by Prósents from October 25 to 31, 2024, reveals that the Samfylking party maintains the highest level of support among Icelandic political parties, with approximately 22.3 percent of respondents backing them. However, this marks a decline from nearly 25 percent in the previous survey conducted on October 16.
The Viðreisn party follows as the second-largest, rising to 18.5 percent from over 14 percent in October. Both the Miðflokkur and the Sjálfstæðisflokkur show similar support levels, each hovering just above 14 percent. The Flokkur fólksins retains a steady position, likely to secure around 11 percent if elections were held now.
Framsókn has seen only a slight increase, now estimated at 5.8 percent. Meanwhile, the Vinstri græn party is noted at 2.6 percent. The Píratar and the Sósíalistar are both slightly below 5 percent in this poll.
The survey included a sample of 2,400 people, with 1,195 responses achieved, resulting in a response rate close to 50 percent. The results reflect ongoing dynamics in Iceland’s political landscape as the 2024 Alþing elections approach, shaping the strategies of various parties as they prepare for the electoral contest.
