The Varsinais-Suomi Welfare Area has concluded its employee negotiations, resulting in the termination of 45 positions and a reassignment of 211 workers to new roles. According to a statement from Varha, these changes primarily affect individuals in management, supervisory, and administrative positions. The negotiations involved a total of 21,000 employees.

These discussions are part of Varha’s strategy to achieve a savings target of €270 million. The goal is to accumulate these savings by the end of 2026. Starting next year, the welfare area’s board will be presented with a plan to secure permanent annual staff savings of €10 million. Additionally, beginning in 2026, these changes are expected to yield permanent savings of €14.5 million.

The regional council will address this matter in its meeting scheduled for November 5.
