Rain systems bring warnings for poor driving conditions in Finland
Two rain systems coming from the west are expected to bring rain and some snow to Finland today and in the coming days, according to the Finnish Meteorological Institute. Drivers are advised to switch to winter tires as soon as possible, as warnings for extremely poor and bad driving conditions will be in effect starting this evening.
Residents of Kymenlaakso and Päijät-Häme should prepare for extremely poor driving conditions today and tomorrow. Meanwhile, bad weather conditions may stretch inland to the coastal areas of Ostrobothnia. Furthermore, warnings about poor driving conditions will also be issued tomorrow for the southern parts of Eastern Finland.
According to the meteorological institute, snowfall may reach up to 15 to 20 centimeters in some regions. Although the warm ground will quickly melt the snow, some accumulations may remain on the ground.
