Yle announces cancellation of long-running talk show Arto Nyberg in Finland

Yle has announced the cancellation of its long-running talk show, “Arto Nyberg,” which has aired since 2004. The decision to end the program comes as part of a broader initiative to refresh the network’s television offerings, according to Tarmo Kivikallio, head of Yle’s Procurement, Rights, and Sales department.

“This is about renewing content. We recognized that twenty years have gone splendidly, but at some point, it’s necessary to refresh, and we feel that now is the right time,” Kivikallio stated.

In place of “Arto Nyberg,” Yle plans to introduce a new program, although Kivikallio did not provide further details about the upcoming show’s content. The final episode of “Arto Nyberg” is scheduled to air in December. The news of the program’s cancellation was first reported by Ilta-Sanomat.
