Opposition members submit motion of no confidence against Ingilín Didriksen Strøm in Faroe Islands

Today at 11 a.m., opposition members plan to present a motion of no confidence against Ingilín Didriksen Strøm, the Minister of Environment.

Ingilín Didriksen Strøm was referred to the government committee in May after stating in parliament that she had not received indications of any issues with the long-term maintenance of the Housing Loan Fund.

Initially, the committee determined that the minister had provided false statements. However, they later changed their stance, and a majority within the committee – coalition members Hanna Jensen and Hans Jacob Thomsen – ultimately called for the Speaker of Parliament to appoint an inquiry director.

The opposition does not accept this and will proceed to submit the motion of no confidence when the parliamentary session begins today, as announced by Bárður á Steig Nielsen, who is also a member of the government committee.

We will follow the developments on this matter in “Breddin” today, with political commentators Beinta Løwe and Árni Gregersen present in the studio.

Tune in to “Breddin” at 10 a.m. on our radio station and at kvf.fo.
