Greenhouse gas emissions rise 5.6 percent in Swedish economy during second quarter of 2024
Greenhouse gas emissions from the Swedish economy rose significantly in the second quarter of 2024, according to new data from Statistics Sweden (SCB). This quarter recorded the highest emissions for a second quarter since 2021, as stated by Johanna Takman, an analyst at SCB’s environmental accounts.
Compared to the same period last year, emissions increased by 5.6 percent. The most notable contributions to this rise came from households, the construction industry, and the transportation sector.
