Eighteen-year-old Asbjørn Glisbo was assigned tasks such as demolition work and repainting road markings during his three months of employment with LM Multiservices. This same company has come under scrutiny for employing minors for asbestos work on a property in Southern Jutland. Glisbo has yet to receive payment for over 400 hours of his labor.

Allan Andersen, chairman of the 3F Holbæk-Odsherred union, expressed concerns over the company, stating, “We know they are a group of fraudsters who are removing asbestos with children.” The union is now demanding back pay exceeding 100,000 Danish kroner. However, Andersen refrained from disclosing the specific amount, emphasizing, “First and foremost, we will demand some wages for our member.” He also mentioned other issues, such as violations of the working time directive and the lack of an employment contract.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that LM Multiservices has employed six minors aged between 12 and 16 from Odsherred municipality. A September inspection by the Working Environment Authority confirmed that at least two of these children had been exposed to asbestos, and they worked without appropriate protective equipment, often at night, according to Odsherred’s mayor, Karina Vincentz.

Andersen remains skeptical about the legitimacy of the company, noting that it has established and dissolved multiple subsidiaries over the years to avoid financial responsibilities. “It seems typical for such businesses to open and close as it suits them,” he added.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to obtain a comment from the owner of LM Multiservices.
