Police investigate multiple incidents of alleged exposure in Kouvola, Finland
Police suspect that a man who exposed himself to a child in Kouvola may have multiple victims. Surveillance footage obtained from the vicinity of the train station supports the notion that there are several incidents, according to Chief Investigator, Crime Commissioner Lasse Hakala from the Southeast Finland Police.
The police apprehended the man at the scene. Reports indicate that he was following an underage girl at Kouvola train station on September 24. It is alleged that he exposed himself to the girl and touched himself in her presence. The man is suspected of sexual misconduct towards a child, with a maximum penalty of six years in prison for such an offense under the law. Hakala has not commented on when the case will proceed to prosecution review.
In early October, police announced they were investigating the possibility that the man had followed other individuals near the train station. Several reports had been made to the emergency services regarding the incidents. The police have initiated investigations into these reports as well.
