In areas where thick cloud cover did not obstruct the view, spectacular celestial displays were seen in the sky, including places further south than one might expect. This phenomenon has been occurring with greater frequency recently. “We are currently experiencing a peak,” stated meteorologist Tora Tomasdottir.

The colorful auroras have fascinated observers, with many capturing stunning images of the northern lights. For those curious about the science behind the spectacle, meteorologists explain the cycles of auroras and the role of solar activity.

Photographer Anna Lynx, who has been chasing the northern lights in Grästorp for a decade, described the experience as “almost meditative.” The captivating visuals of the auroras over the region continue to draw attention and inspire awe among both locals and visitors alike.
