Residents in Vesturbær district of Reykjavík face hot water outage today

Residents in large portions of the Vesturbær district of Reykjavík will experience a hot water outage today from 8 AM to 4 PM. The utility company Veitur has announced that maintenance work involves the installation of purification equipment at the pumping station located at Fornhaga. This initiative aims to capture impurities that are a natural byproduct of hot water extraction from geothermal low-temperature areas.

Additionally, other nearby buildings, including those possibly located in Skerjafjörður, may experience reduced hot water pressure during this maintenance period.
