For those who did not have children for various reasons, the prospect of childlessness can resurface, especially when friends or family members welcome grandchildren. The childless association Simpukka refers to the experience of being without grandchildren as the “second round of childlessness.”
Grandchildren often become a recurring topic of conversation during gatherings with friends, colleagues, or relatives. According to Simpukka, many who are childless may experience feelings of sadness, alienation, and anxiety in these situations.
As the number of childless individuals rises, Finland is also witnessing a decline in birth rates.
If you are facing the emotional challenges of being without grandchildren, we would like to hear your story. We are gathering personal experiences for an article and are also looking for potential interviewees.
