Yle seeks stories from people who have turned their finances around

Yle is asking people who have overcome financial difficulties and paid off their debts to share how they turned their situation around.

Years of rising everyday costs have left many households in an unsustainable financial position. In July, Yle reported that the number of people in long-term enforcement proceedings, lasting more than a year and a half, had risen by about 25 percent in a year.

Nearly 389,000 people in Finland have at least one payment default record, according to Suomen Asiakastieto. The number is still growing, but its rate of increase has slowed this year.
