Car sales decline in Faroe Islands as used vehicle imports surge

From January to September this year, 1,244 new cars have been sold in the Faroe Islands, according to the latest statistics from the Road Traffic Authority.
In the same period last year, 1,659 vehicles were sold, marking a decline of 415 vehicles, which translates to a 25 percent decrease.
In contrast, the number of used cars imported is on the rise. So far this year, 305 used vehicles have been imported, which is 110 more than during the same period last year, when 195 vehicles were imported. This reflects a substantial growth of 56 percent.
