Blind Channel, the Finnish band that gained international recognition through the Eurovision Song Contest, has announced they will be taking an indefinite break following their upcoming performances at the end of the year. The nu-metal group, originally from Oulu, expressed the need to step back from the spotlight to reassess their future plans in a recent statement.

“After nearly 300 shows worldwide and the release of two studio albums in between, it’s time to blow out the candle before it burns out from both ends,” the band members stated. Blind Channel will continue to perform for the remainder of the year, with a UK tour alongside the Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil planned for October. Following this, Blind Channel will embark on a tour in Finland, kicking off in Levi on November 16 and culminating on December 21 in their hometown, Oulu.

Additionally, a documentary series about Blind Channel will be released by Yle on December 16, capturing the band’s journey toward global prominence, including both challenges and successes. “After Dark Side” is described as a brutally honest look into the band’s wildest years, intertwined with their everyday lives and experiences.

Blind Channel gained notable fame after winning Yle’s UMK competition in 2021 and represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, where they achieved an impressive sixth place—Finland’s third-best result in the competition’s history. News outlets such as Ilta-Sanomat and Iltalehti reported this announcement earlier today.
