auroras, Finland, weather

Early auroras were seen in parts of Finland overnight, Yle reports, as clear skies allowed the season’s first displays to appear. In much of the country, thick cloud cover hid the auroras.

A new area of low pressure will bring more rain and cloud to Finland on Wednesday. Rain will be heaviest in the east, while the western parts of the country and Lapland will have the driest conditions.

Temperatures will mostly rise to between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. The weather will become drier and clearer in the west towards the evening, while rain will continue in a band stretching from the east to western Lapland. There is also an elevated risk of frost in Ostrobothnia.
