Police chase ends dramatically in Muhos with two apprehended after property crime in Paltamo

A police chase in Northern Ostrobothnia concluded with a dramatic scene in Muhos, as officers deployed a spike strip to stop a vehicle fleeing from law enforcement. The incident began Friday night in Paltamo, Kainuu, where a car involved in a property crime confronted a police patrol and immediately attempted to escape.

Traveling at high speed toward Oulu along Highway 22, the fleeing vehicle created numerous dangerous situations on the road. Authorities successfully brought the pursuit to an end by using spike strips near Soson in Muhos.

Two individuals were apprehended from the vehicle, and the driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test, which revealed a blood alcohol content significantly exceeding the legal limit for severe intoxication while driving. The case is currently under investigation for charges of robbery, severe drunk driving, and serious endangerment of traffic safety.
