The weekend weather in Finland will be variable, bringing a mix of snow, rain, and sunny conditions, according to Yle meteorologist Elias Paakkanen.

On Friday, Lapland will experience precipitation, with Northern Lapland expecting snowfall. Accumulations could exceed ten centimeters, resulting in poor driving conditions, especially in Inari, where conditions may become extremely hazardous.

In southern and central Finland, the weather will be largely dry and sunny, with the sunny spots concentrated along the western coast and in the east. The sun is also expected to break through in Southwest Lapland as a low-pressure system moves towards the east throughout the day. There is a possibility of seeing the Northern Lights during the night from Friday to Saturday, as many regions in Finland will have clear skies.

Overnight, the low-pressure system will move away, and Saturday is predicted to be predominantly sunny and dry across the country. In the north, temperatures will hover around five degrees Celsius, while southern Finland could see temperatures rise above ten degrees. Overall, Saturday will feature favorable outdoor conditions.

On Sunday, a new low-pressure system will arrive from the west, bringing rain to central Finland and Lapland. Precipitation in the northern edge of the rain area will mostly fall as snow, while the southern edge will see rain. Additionally, a warm southwest wind will strengthen, bringing warmer air to southern and central regions. Temperatures in these areas could exceed ten degrees, with southern Finland reaching as high as 14 degrees. In Northern Lapland, temperatures will remain around freezing.
