Police secure Russian Embassy in Helsinki amid security inspection

Police are currently present outside the Russian Embassy on Tehtaankatu in Helsinki. According to the police command center, the operation is a security inspection related to the embassy’s premises. The police confirmed that the task began around 5:30 PM, following a request from the Russian Embassy. They assured that there is no danger to the public from the situation.

The police statement indicated that they cannot provide further comments on the matter. While the premises of the diplomatic mission are inviolable, police may investigate suspected criminal activity or security threats in the embassy area with the consent of the sending state.
