Weather system affects conditions across Iceland today
A low-pressure system southwest of Iceland is influencing today’s weather. Many areas are experiencing northeast winds or gusts, along with rain or sleet at times, and snowfall in the highlands to the north. Precipitation is expected to decrease later in the afternoon, with clearer skies developing in southern and western regions of the country tonight. However, winds will strengthen in the southeast and northeast, bringing stronger gusts there.
Similar weather conditions are anticipated tomorrow, but winds will be slightly calmer in the northeast, with more cloud cover and minimal precipitation. The southern and western areas will continue to experience predominantly light cloud cover. Daytime temperatures will range from 1 to 9 degrees Celsius, with the warmest conditions found in the southwest.
