Oma Säästöpankki appoints Karri Alameri as new CEO in Seinäjoki, Finland

The board of Oma Säästöpankki, based in Seinäjoki, has appointed Karri Alameri as the company’s new CEO. He will begin his role by April 1, 2025, transitioning from his current position as CEO of the Savings Bank Group, a role he has held since 2022. Prior to that, Alameri served in leadership positions within the Savings Bank Group, OP Group, and Danske Bank.

The search for a new CEO commenced in June, and Jaakko Ossa, the chairman of the board, expressed satisfaction with the swift progress of the process and the final outcome. “Karri Alameri has a commendable track record in the finance sector and enjoys widespread trust. We particularly appreciate his strong leadership skills across various operational environments and market conditions. Karri is the best possible choice for the role of CEO,” Ossa stated.

Alameri acknowledged the importance of skilled staff and satisfied customers and highlighted the bank’s successful identification of promising growth areas. “The news cycle has been exceptionally challenging in recent months, but I see great potential in leveraging our existing strengths to build OmaSp’s future success. I am excited to take on the role as the CEO of Finland’s largest savings bank,” he said.

The appointment is contingent upon the approval of the Financial Supervisory Authority. In the interim, Sarianna Liiri will continue to serve as the acting CEO until Alameri officially begins his role.
