Emergency services respond to garage fire in Reykjanesbær, Iceland

Emergency services were dispatched to a garage fire in Reykjanesbær this evening. The fire brigade arrived to find a significant blaze and black smoke billowing from the structure.

According to the on-duty shift leader, the firefighting efforts proceeded smoothly due to good access to the site. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and there was no risk of the fire spreading to nearby buildings. However, the adjacent house did require smoke ventilation as a precautionary measure.

It is believed that the vehicle in the garage was a total loss due to the fire.
