Serious traffic accident on Skagavegur in Iceland leaves one dead and one injured

A serious traffic accident occurred on Skagavegur, north of Skagaströnd by Fossá, around 3 PM today, according to a statement from the police in the North West region of Iceland. The report indicates that a vehicle veered off the road and into Fossá. The driver, a man in his forties, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger was transported by ambulance to Akureyri Hospital for further treatment.

The Transportation Accident Investigation Board has responded to the scene, and the investigation into the crash is being conducted by the investigation department of the local police.
