Authorities in South Iceland received a report around 1 PM regarding a man believed to have fallen at Hlauptungufoss in the Brúará River. Emergency rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene, alongside two helicopters from the Coast Guard.

Asgeir Erlendsson, a spokesperson for the Coast Guard, confirmed that the police requested assistance from the helicopter unit. One helicopter has already arrived at the incident site, while the second is on its way, carrying emergency medical personnel and divers from the capital’s fire department.

Rescue teams are actively searching for the missing man at the location, which is approximately 1.5 kilometers from the Laugarvatnsvegur road in South Iceland. Further updates on the situation are expected.
