Administrative Court dismisses complaint over capital loan for Ähtäri Zoo in Finland

Tuesday 10th September 2024 on 11:40 in Finland

The Administrative Court has dismissed a complaint regarding a capital loan granted to Ähtäri Zoo by the city of Ähtäri. An individual had appealed to the court against the city council’s decision to convert short-term loans provided to the zoo into capital loans. The city owns the zoo, which has been facing financial difficulties. A capital loan can be used to improve the company’s solvency.

Following the complaint, the Administrative Court had initially prohibited the implementation of the capital loan decision. However, the court has now ruled that this prohibition is no longer in effect. A further appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court is possible, pending approval for the appeal to be heard by the court.
