Fire in Kemi suspected to be arson as police detain one individual

A fire in a row house in Kemi, Finland, on Sunday morning is suspected to be arson. The Lapland police have detained one person in connection with the incident. The intense fire destroyed 12 apartments, with several individuals inside when the flames broke out shortly before 6 AM.

Authorities have conducted an investigation at the scene and confirmed that all residents registered at the property have been located, with no fatalities reported. The police are continuing with both the technical investigation of the fire and questioning individuals related to the incident.

The local fire department evacuated 15 people from the building, some of whom have been accommodated in a nearby hotel after their homes were lost in the blaze.
