Pori Jazz has undergone restructuring talks due to a challenging economic situation, confirmed Sampsa Jolma, the festival’s CEO, in a statement to Yle. However, he declined to provide details about the discussions. “I will not comment on the matter at all,” Jolma stated.

This summer, the main concerts of Pori Jazz 2024 attracted 32,000 attendees at Kirjurinluoto, a significant drop from the 61,500 participants in the previous year. “We certainly fell short of our goals. We would have liked to see more attendees at the main concerts,” Jolma mentioned in a Yle interview following the festival in July.

The Pori Jazz festival has faced several years of losses, including a reported deficit of โ‚ฌ370,000 last year, despite featuring high-profile artists. Jolma did not comment on the loss figures from the recently concluded summer. He emphasized that the ongoing restructuring talks would not impact artist bookings for next summer’s festival.
