Authorities in Innlandet District are currently planning additional interrogations as part of an ongoing investigation into the tragic suicide of 19-year-old Peder Angel Lundquist Langen. Anna Brunstad, the prosecutor responsible for the case, declined to comment on the current status of individuals involved or any potential suspects, stating that the investigation is still active.

Peder, a student at Nord-Østerdal VGS in Tynset, took his own life after reportedly enduring years of bullying. Just before his death, he had reached out for help concerning his suicidal thoughts. Peder’s parents have since filed complaints against individuals they believe may have contributed to his distress and eventual suicide.

The police have confiscated several items, including Peder’s mobile phone and other digital devices, to assist in their investigation. Brunstad refrained from discussing the contents of the seized materials to protect the integrity of the ongoing inquiry.

Concerns have been raised about the thoroughness of the police’s investigation, particularly from a friend of Peder who felt their statements were misrepresented in the official records following their interview. The family’s legal representative criticized the police for what he described as a serious oversight in documenting crucial details, especially as the friend’s testimony appeared relevant to one of the individuals being accused. This matter has been reported to the Special Investigations Unit for police cases.

In light of the family’s distress over the slow pace of the investigation, responsibility has been transferred from Tynset to Elverum, with plans to complete the inquiry by the end of September.
