The trial of a woman accused of attempted murder began on a typical Thursday at a local service office. Lise, an employee, was having a conversation during her lunch break when the defendant approached the counter, speaking unintelligibly. Leaning over the desk, the woman suddenly declared, “Now I’m going to be killed.”

Lise recognized the woman as she had seen her a year prior with her husband. Instead of sitting down, the woman walked down the hallway and pushed Lise’s colleague. Lise was also shoved, and she later found herself on the floor, recalling, “She must have stabbed me in the left thigh while I was standing beside her.” She believes the second stab wound, to her right thigh, occurred as she lay on the floor, paralyzed by fear and pain.

The injuries necessitated extensive surgery and stitching. Lise, who has worked at the office since January 2019, described the experience as unimaginable. She attempted to defend herself by kicking the attacker. Another staff member suffered a cut to the neck.

Lise described prolonged physical pain following the incident, with visible scars serving as reminders. She continues to struggle with her mental health, sharing, “My children thought I was going to die when they heard I had been stabbed. I don’t harbor any bitterness towards her; I understand she is unwell.”

The accused caused further disturbances during the courtroom proceedings, demanding the judge remain silent and expressing a desire to regain custody of her daughter, who was taken away shortly after birth.
