There has never been a better opportunity to save money on fuel by filling up on the right day, according to recent analyses of the fuel market, which show significant price differences based on timing. Historically, fuel prices were consistently lower on Sunday evenings and Monday mornings, but this has become less predictable, with price reductions occurring at various times during the week.

Currently, diesel prices have dipped into the low 16 NOK range, while gasoline has been seen in the low 17 NOK range. At the other end of the spectrum, the highest prices are reaching around 24 NOK for diesel and 25 NOK for gasoline. Many drivers are becoming increasingly aware of these differences and adjusting their fueling habits accordingly.

Several motorists shared their experiences when asked about their fuel purchasing strategies. Some admitted they donโ€™t always have time to plan but will fill up when they notice lower prices. Others check prices daily, utilizing apps to ensure they get the best deals. One driver noted that fuel prices can vary significantly, especially as weekends approach, with potential differences of up to five NOK.

For those with a diesel vehicle equipped with a 65-liter tank, an 8 NOK price difference could save them 520 NOK per fill-up. Experts advise residents to monitor local fuel prices regularly, taking note of pricing patterns in their area, to maximize savings. By remaining vigilant, drivers could save hundreds of NOK each month.

Moreover, competition among local gas stations can lead to fluctuating prices. Observing these variations can lead to better fuel purchase decisions, especially when filling a near-empty tank. Overall, being aware of these changes can result in substantial savings for conscientious drivers.
