Search for new rector at Tampere University of Applied Sciences progresses with candidate list now extended
The search for a new rector at Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) has progressed, with the candidate list now extended. Initially, 17 individuals applied for the position, but the number has decreased to 13 as four candidates have withdrawn from the process. Earlier this week, it was reported that the applicants include Mika Hannula, Salla Huttunen, Mikko Ketovuori, Janne Kolho, Silja Kostia, Jari Multisilta, Simo Mustila, Jori Reijula, Marja Sutela, Viljo Varho, and Kirsi Viskari.
In addition, two more candidates, Heikki Toivanen and Kyösti Väkeväinen, have entered the race. Toivanen serves as the CEO and team coach of Tiimiakatemia Global, which coaches educational institutions and businesses. Kyösti Väkeväinen, who holds a PhD, is the CEO of HAUS Development Centre, which offers training and development services to public administration. Previously, Väkeväinen served as the vice rector at Laurea University of Applied Sciences.
A panel discussion featuring the top candidates is scheduled to take place at TAMK on September 30. The previous rector, Tapio Kujala, was dismissed from his position in the spring and has since been appointed as the vice rector responsible for education at the University of the Arts in May.
