court, Iceland, restraining order

Two people involved in a criminal case against Íris Helga Jónatansdóttir have obtained 12-month restraining orders against her, mbl.is reports.

Íris is alleged to have lain in wait for the pair with members of her family on Wednesday evening, after the third day of the main hearing in her case. The two are her former boyfriend and his partner, who are named in many of the charges against her.

The restraining orders were presented to a judge on Friday morning. The couple did not attend court that day. A relative of one of the complainants testified that it was deeply saddening for the pair to feel they would never again be able to go about freely because of Íris.

Íris is charged with stalking, defamatory allegations, document forgery, making false accusations and breaches of child protection laws. The main hearing continued at the District Court of Reykjanes on Friday.
