Búnaðarstovan, a Faroese agricultural agency, is selling this year’s wool, KVF reports. Bids must be submitted by November 23.
The wool is being sold in bales weighing 250 kilograms. It is divided into two grades: 25 tonnes in the first grade, sorted into six natural colours, mostly white and light grey, and 8.5 tonnes in the second grade, which has not been sorted by colour.
Búnaðarstovan reserves the right to select the bid or bids that offer the best overall price for all the wool.
Last year, the agency sold all 33 tonnes to one buyer in the Faroe Islands. It has not disclosed the price, but said it was satisfactory.
