The chief executive and chairman of Íslenskir aðalverktakar, known as ÍAV, are set to leave their posts, mbl.is reports. Chief executive Þóroddur Ottesen Arnarson will leave on January 15, while chairman Sigurður Ragnarsson will remain at least until the end of the year.
Vísir reports that Daniel Grad, chief executive of Marti AS in Norway, will take over temporarily as ÍAV’s chief executive while the company seeks a permanent replacement. Grad will also become chairman. ÍAV’s parent company is Switzerland-based Marti Contractors Ltd, and Grad comes from an affiliated company in Norway.
Þóroddur has been appointed chief executive of Stólpi, a subsidiary of Styrkás hf., the company said in an announcement. Stólpi provides property management and rental services, and sells and rents building units, residential units, containers and storage solutions. It also operates a workshop offering container, refrigeration-unit and trailer repairs, as well as carpentry services.
Þóroddur said he looked forward to helping develop Stólpi, which he described as having a strong position in its market and a strong workforce. He said he saw opportunities in building units and the company’s other operations.
