Jokkmokk ends municipal director’s job over porn film career

Jokkmokk municipality in northern Sweden has terminated municipal director Lars Eriksson’s employment after Swedish public broadcaster SVT reported that he had produced and appeared in pornographic films, Yle reports.

SVT said Eriksson had worked in the industry under the name “Hans” since 2018. Two films were released while he was municipal director. Eriksson said his most recent involvement in the industry was in 2022, before he took up the post in spring 2024.

Municipal officials said his background could pose a security risk and create a risk that confidential information might be disclosed to outsiders. “It is extremely important that a senior official is not vulnerable to blackmail,” municipal council chair Roland Boman told SVT.

Eriksson’s employment was terminated following the revelations. He was granted a severance package equivalent to six months’ salary.
