Popeda, Yö and other Finnish rock acts will perform at Tampere’s Tammela Stadium next summer, Yle reports. The concert will celebrate the 50th anniversary of record label Poko Rekords, founded in Tampere.
The Manserock Orchestra will also perform, with singers including Martti Syrjä and Toni Lähteenmäki, known from the band Ilona. The concert, called Suomirokkia stadionilla, will take place on July 31 and is restricted to people aged 18 and over.
Poko Rekords was founded by Tampere-based music figure Epe Helenius. The label released music by Eppu Normaali, Popeda, Yö, Hassisen Kone, Sielun Veljet, Ismo Alanko and J. Karjalainen. Rockabilly band Teddy and the Tigers was among the label’s early signings, and its single was Poko’s first release.
Tammela Stadium is a football stadium that opened in spring 2024. A Manserock concert held there last summer featured some of the same performers and drew nearly 10,000 people.
