A man has received a treatment sentence from the Court of the Faroe Islands after being convicted of five offences under the penal code provision covering sexual intercourse with children under 15, KVF reports.
The offences took place in 2024 and involved two girls who were 13 at the time. The man was 19. The court found that he had attempted to have, or had, sexual intercourse with them. He pleaded guilty.
The court imposed a treatment sentence after a psychiatric assessment found he was not suitable for imprisonment. In five years, a decision will be made on whether to extend the sentence.
