Iceland is not among the 36 countries listed as participants in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, according to mbl.is, citing the European Broadcasting Union’s list published on Wednesday.
The EBU said broadcasters in Spain and Slovenia had been given more time to confirm whether they would take part, as their decisions were still pending.
The board of Icelandic broadcaster RÚV had previously decided that Iceland should boycott the contest again in 2027 unless Israel is barred from participating. Three of the board’s nine members recorded their opposition to that position. The contest is scheduled to take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, from May 12 to 15.
