The Competition Authority is reviewing the planned sale of the fishing vessel Birita after receiving formal notification, KVF reports.
Jókin in Hvalba and Vestmanna Fiskavirki have jointly agreed with Gráastein to buy the vessel, including its fishing licence and all fishing rights. The buyers plan to divide the rights between them and use them for vessels they already own.
The Fishermen’s Association puts the purchase price at between 250 million and 300 million kroner. Birita joined the Faroese fleet from Norway in 2021.
The deadline for comments on the takeover is November 9.
