Runólfur Pálsson to lead Landspítali through 2029

Runólfur Pálsson’s appointment as chief executive of Landspítali hospital has been extended through the end of 2029, mbl.is reports. His current term was due to end on March 1.

In an article in Spítalapúlsinn, Pálsson said he had accepted a request from the health minister to continue in the role.

“I have great ambition for Landspítali and great confidence in the talent within the institution’s workforce,” he wrote.

Pálsson said important milestones had been reached during his tenure. He said the professionalism of staff and increased patient-service output were especially pleasing to him.
