Finland’s defence industry exported military products worth nearly 702 million euros last year, a record in SaferGlobe’s data series dating back to 2002, Yle reported.
Exports of land vehicles and components to Sweden, Japan and Latvia were a particular driver of the increase, according to the think tank’s arms control report.
About 74 per cent of exports went to Europe. Sweden was the largest destination, receiving more than a quarter of the total, followed by Japan.
Finland granted export licences for military products to Israel worth about 14 million euros, but actual exports amounted to only around 55,000 euros.
